Private Study & Tour: Our Northern Thailand Photography Tours & Photography Courses aim to really take you away from the usual well worn tourist haunts. You will visit lush jungle, get to ‘Home Stay’ with the amazingly open and friendly locals. Travel via raft, elephant and walk in an amazingly stunning part of Southeast Asia. Photography options are endless, either of the diverse locals, many of which are from various hill-tribe minorities whose culture in the area stretches back thousands of years. Or photography of the amazing vistas of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and dense jungle.
Our trips start in Chiang Mai and head into Mae Wang District, you travel by luxury 4 Wheel Drive off road vehicles. You will see countless rice paddies and then be off into the hills. If you are a true nature and adventure seeker here is your paradise tour and adventure.
Day 1
07:00am start and drive to Mae Wang District where we can try Bamboo Rafting, the degrees of difficulty are only 1-2. Its shady scenery will make you feel relaxed. The rafting trip on a bamboo takes about one hour. You can get wet, so please remember to take extra clothes with you. If you don’t want to try the rafting you can sit on the riverside relaxing and taking pictures. Rafting along the Mae Wang River is not open in rainy season (June – October) when the current is very strong and too dangerous for rafting. After the rafting we head into the mountains our destination is the amazingly beautiful Wat Luang Khun Win. This temple is more than 700 years old.
Later we head off the mountain to Mae Sapok Waterfall. The waterfall originated from the Sapok River inlets, running down from the peaks of the local mountains. Time to relax there and do some photography. Then we head even higher into the mountains, to a small settlement. Once there, we will sleep at a local home ( Home-Stay ) you will be offered fantastic locally made food and a unique, clean and friendly place to rest for the night.
Day 2
Next morning we visit and photography beautiful hill-tribe villages and its people. Then on to Wat Pra Buddha Chinnawong Temple. Its sculptures display Buddhist history, there is a vantage point overlooking the beautiful landscapes of mountains and jungle. Then we visit the famous elephant farm. You can take pictures of the elephants and you can ride a tour if you want. later we meet the Karen people of Ban Mae Sapok Village. Then back to our Home-Stay haven, there you will get ample opportunity to photography the stunning sunsets surrounded by majestic mountains.
Day 3
The next morning we head up to Thailand’s highest mountain, Doi Inthanon. The drive will takes about 3 hours, but we make many stops for photography along the way. You will encounter small villages, farming and stunning landscape views. When we arriving at the top of Doi Inthanon you will have plenty of opportunity to take pictures of the views and the inhabitants. Late afternoon you will be taken back to Chiang Mai with an unforgettable experience, memories and amazing pictures too.
Day 4
The mountain around Chiang Mai – We will travel from Chiang Mai early morning (06:00am). First we drive to Mon Cham where we can see beautiful nature and landscape. Here we see mountains, small villages and its inhabitants, beautiful scenery and unspoilt countryside. We will drive around in the mountains for a few hours, where we can see flower farming, sweet chilly farming, elephants and different tribes. We need some food and her we will visit a local home where they give us food.

Guide & Tutor Pauli Djurholm
This includes all your transport, food, elephant rides and accommodation. You will be taken care of from the moment you leave Chiang Mai until your return. Your tutor and guide is Pauli Djurholm. He extensive knowledge and love of the region make him your perfect guide. On top of that he is a lovely newly wedded man- warm and welcoming.
